Breach of privacy: actor’s sister petitions police

Actor Dileep’s sister, S. Jayalakshmi, has filed a petition with the Aluva East police against two television channels and their reporters alleging that drones were flown over her brother’s residence in Aluva without permission, thereby violating the privacy of not only the actor but also his family members. The petition was submitted by Ms. Jayalakshmi on Tuesday. The channels allegedly flew drones over Mr. Dileep’s house on December 8, when the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court delivered its verdict in the actor rape case. Mr. Dileep, sixth accused in the case, was acquitted. Before and after the verdict, the channels reportedly captured overhead visuals of Dileep’s residence without his consent. According to the complaint, visuals of not only Dileep but also other residents of the house, including the complainant herself, were illegally recorded using drones and continuously broadcast by the channels.
