Iran protests fuel safety fears for Brit couple held in Tehran jails Craig and Lindsay Foreman were on a once in a lifetime motorbike trip across the world before they were thrown into prison in Iran - their son has shared his worries for their safety and freedom The son of a British couple detained in Iran has revealed he is worried for their safety after the UK embassy in Tehran closed amid huge anti-regime demonstrations. Craig and Lindsay Foreman had been on a motorbike trip across the world but they were arrested by Iranian authorities, in January 2025, and accused of spying. The couple have vehemently denied these allegations but they remain locked up in a terrifying Iranian prison. Their son Joe Bennett yesterday said his mum and dad were in a "dangerous position" in jail due to the mass protests that have gripped the nation, leading to arrests, violence and executions . The son said he last spoke to Craig and Lindsay on Wednesday where they told him about "unsafe" and "frightening" conditions inside the jail. Foreign Office travel advice has now been updated to reflect this consular change." Joe explained that if his parents were released from jail they would have gone to the British embassy, but this potential plan has been thrown into disarray. Legal representatives for Craig and Lindsay, in Tehran, submitted an application for bail. The son added: "The trouble is, their plan was to go to the embassy, was to try to get to the embassy because they feel that that's safe ground and now. Where do they go? What do they do?" Joe added that officials from the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office told him they were still "assessing the situation". The Mirror has reached out to the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office for comment. Joe, speaking to The Mirror in December, revealed the horror conditions his parents face at the Evin Prison. He said Lindsay developed a skin condition due to a lack of ventilation and the couple struggle to get enough exercise in such a confined space. He added Craig lost a...
