During her stay at the crease in the 129-run chase at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, the right-handed batter from Haryana slammed 11 fours and 1 six. She added 29 runs for the first wicket with Smriti Mandhana (14), 58 runs for the second wicket with Jemimah Rodrigues (26) and 41 runs for the third wicket with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who made 10 runs. For her unbeaten knock in the second T20I, Shafali won the Player Of The Match award. The POTM award won by Shafali in the second T20I is her 8th POTM award for India in the shortest format of the game. She has now leapfrogged Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma, who have won the POTM award seven times so far in WT20Is for Team India.
