Karnataka Lokayukta Raids Senior Officer, Unearths ₹14 Crore In Alleged Disproportionate Assets Karnataka Lokayukta Police raided 13 locations linked to Sardar Sarfaraz Khan, uncovering assets worth ₹14.38 crore amid corruption allegations. The Karnataka Lokayukta Police on Tuesday carried out searches at multiple locations linked to senior government officer Sardar Sarfaraz Khan, following allegations that he amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Khan is currently serving as Director in the Audit Department of Co-operative Societies and is also Secretary of the Department of Minority Welfare and Wakf, which is headed by Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan. Recommended Stories According to an official statement issued by the Lokayukta Police, searches were conducted at 13 properties connected to Khan, during which movable and immovable assets worth ₹14.38 crore were unearthed. The immovable assets include four residential houses and 37 acres of agricultural land, together valued at ₹8.44 crore. The movable assets recovered during the raids comprised cash amounting to ₹66,500, gold ornaments valued at ₹2.99 crore, vehicles worth ₹1.64 crore, and other valuables estimated at ₹1.29 crore. The total value of movable assets has been pegged at ₹5.93 crore, officials said. Khan had earlier come under scrutiny in the first half of the year after a purported call recording between him and MLA BR Patil went viral on social media. In the recording, the legislator is heard flagging alleged large-scale corruption in the allotment of houses under the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Ltd, claiming that houses were distributed in exchange for bribes.
