Timothée Chalamet isn't letting this on-set experience be a complete unknown. Indeed, the actor revealed an awkward encounter while filming Marty Supreme when he tried to agitate a background actor into a heated argument for a scene. "I won't say who, but in that motel sequence, there are a lot of non-actors that I find it really thrilling to work with," Timothée explained during a Jan. 14 Q&A alongside Robert Downey Jr. at the DGA Theater in New York City, per People , "but sometimes it would take multiple takes to really get something out of them." "I'm really getting in the guy's face and I'm really trying to get him angry with me," he continued, noting that he eventually had to tell the film's director Josh Safdie that the background actor was “not getting angry with me, he's not getting angry with me." The 30-year-old-who won Best Actor at the 2026 Critics Choice and Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy at the 2026 Golden Globes-eventually pulled something fiery out of the actor. "I did another take, and then the guy said, 'I was just in jail for 30 years. You really don't want to f--k with me. You don't want to see me angry," he recalled. "I said to Josh, Holy s--t, who do you have me opposite, man?" As for why Timothée was trying to get the actor angry? Well, his character Marty Mauser wasn't too happy when he fell through the floor of his hotel room while taking a bath, which the front desk had warned him not to do. The shocking incident led to Marty landing on a dog and its gangster owner's arm. But the background actor wasn't the only cast member who made their mark on set. In fact, Josh enlisted Robert Pattinson -who previously starred in the Safdie-directed film Good Time - for a little cameo in the film's British Open semifinals scene. "No one knows this, but that voice-the commentator, the umpire-is Pattinson," Josh revealed during a Jan. 13 interview at the British Film Institute, per Variety . "It's like a little easter egg. Nobody knows about that." "He came and watched some stuff and I was like, 'I don't know any British people,'" Josh quipped. "So, he's the umpire." Jason Kelce tweeted in June 2024 after a fan noted the athlete "looks like he doesn't wash his legs or feet." The retired Philadelphia Eagles player later doubled down on his comments. "What kind of psychopath washes your feet?" he deadpanned on an episode of his and brother Travis Kelce 's New Heights podcast, adding, "If there's visible dirt on them, I'll scrub the dirt off."
