DONALD Trump delayed a major military blitz on Iran after a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US sources revealed. Netanyahu reportedly asked the US president to hold off on launching airstrikes after concerns were raised over the timing of the attacks and how the Ayatollah would respond . Reservations were also expressed by the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt. Israeli and Arab officials are both said to have feared Iran would respond to a strike by attacking their countries after Tehran previously warned any US military base in the Middle East would become a target. Sources stressed that US military action remains “on the table” amid reports that Trump has warned Iran’s regime is doomed unless Khamenei agrees to speak to him directly. Just weeks ago, Trump promised Netanyahu he would “knock the hell out” of Iran if the rogue nation rebuilds its nuclear regime following the conflict. Most read in The US Sun The reports of Trump deciding not to attack Iran come after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the regime halted 800 planned executions scheduled for January 14. Tehran’s leadership spoke with the US to assure them that no protesters would be hanged amid reports of sham trials for those going against the regime. Trump had claimed earlier in the day that he had received information from “very important sources on the other side” about the executions. Leavitt added that President Trump is keeping all options on the table and hasn’t ruled out military strikes if Iran continues to kill its own people. Trump had promised to save the people of Tehran as he said there would be “very strong action” taken against the Ayatollah for the blood spilled. Thousands of freedom fighters have been killed across 18 days of conflict on the streets of Iran at the hands of the Ayatollah’s security forces. The henchmen of Iran’s mullahs are now even being accused of refusing to hand over the bodies of slain protesters to their relatives unless they issue statements in support of the regime. They have been ordered to pay a “bullet fee” of one billion Iranian Tomans - £5,950 - to the government or publicly declare that their loved ones were killed by “terrorists”.
