Rap megastar Nicki Minaj said being able to speak at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest is more important than any concert she has ever performed anywhere in the world, because slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk’s organization is “a direct link between young people and God.” Caylo Seals; Patrick Smith; Chip Somodevilla; Tayfun Cokun/Anadolu via Getty Images “I’ve traveled the world. I’ve performed for huge crowds all around the world, and no matter how many songs I do on that stage, it didn’t mean as much as this, because this is a direct link between young people and God.,” Minaj said. The “Super Bass” singer, who spoke at Turning Point USA’s 2025 AmericaFest on Sunday, went on to say that there has been “a lack” of God “in our media” and “in our everyday conversations.” “You know, interestingly enough, Christians have been persecuted right here in our country in different ways,” she added. “So, when we talk about Nigeria and other countries, know that prior administrations saw nothing wrong with that.” “And that’s what was wrong with that,” Minaj asserted. “I truly feel that there are people out there who felt good about chastising Christians right here in our country,” the “Anaconda” singer continued, calling it “really sick.” “We can’t let people like that be in power,” Minaj said, eliciting a thunderous applause from AmericaFest attendees. They don’t come out willingly, you gotta pry it out of them,” Minaj continued. “They hide, because they don’t want you or anyone to know who they really are behind closed doors.” “Because even they know how evil it is to try to deprive people of worshiping God,” she added. Elsewhere during her appearance, Minaj praised President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, saying they make her “feel proud to be American,” adding, “This administration is full of people with heart and soul.” She also slammed California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), proclaiming, “Dear Newscum, we don’t have a problem cleaning up the scum if we have to.” Turning Point USA surprised its tens of thousands of AmericaFest attendees on Sunday by closing out its event with Minaj, who has been increasingly outspoken about political issues in recent months.
