Woman arrested for stealing gold jewellery in K.K. Nagar

The K.K. Nagar Police arrested a 30-year-old woman for allegedly stealing gold jewellery from her friend’s house. Police said Jayalakshmi, 34, a resident of Arcot Road, K.K. Nagar, found that gold jewellery kept in her house had gone missing on December 19. The missing items included two gold chains, one pendant and one toe ring. Suspecting theft, she lodged a complaint with the R-7 K.K. Nagar Police Station crime wing. On investigation, police arrested her friend Monisha, 30, a resident of Adambakkam and recovered one gold chain weighing 7.05 grams, one pendant, two rings and five small nose studs from her. Investigation revealed that Monisha frequently visited Jayalakshmi’s house. She had stayed there about two weeks ago and allegedly stole the gold jewellery.
