Wacom MovinkPad 11 is an Android Drawing Tablet

A couple of months ago, Wacom unveiled a new drawing tablet with an 11-inch screen and a factory-installed matte screen protector. It is called the Wacom MovikPad 11 and comes with an Android 14 tablet and several apps, including the Wacom Canvas sketching app and 2 years of Clip Studio Paint Debut. The WACOM MoveinkPad features an IPS display with an 11-inch screen, a resolution of 2200 x 1440 pixels, and support for 16.7 million colors. This is primarily used for digital note-taking and drawing, where color accuracy is paramount. There is 8-bit x RGB (24 bits), sRGB 99%, and 400 nits. With a 7700 mAh battery and front and back cameras, it’s designed to follow your creativity wherever you go, with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It ships with Android 14, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. The accompanying pen is a battery-free slim-barrel Pro Pen 3; no computer is needed. Weighs just 1.3lbs, lighter than most laptops and easily fits in a bag or backpack, supports popular digital pens (Dr. Grip, LAMY, STAEDTLER); goes wherever a sketchbook can go Reviewers are loving the device, given its $399 price tag for a middle-of-the-road drawing tablet. Brad Colbow was primarily impressed by the Wacom MovinkPad 11‘s affordability, especially compared to its peers! But he had a lot of other good things to say, too, about its design - including how the lack of camera bump makes it usable for drawing on a flat surface - and the display: its colors, screen resolution, and optional 90hz refresh rate (the default is 60hz to save battery life). Overall, he says that it’s a very good quality all-in-one Android tablet for its price: “It’s not cheaping out anywhere, and it’s not overachieving anywhere - until you get to the pen.” Colbow loves the Pro Pen 3. Stacey Roshan demonstrates that handwriting on the device “rocks,” making it a good option for creative college students who need it to do double-duty as a note-taker in academic classes. He does say that it’s a “fine tablet for adult artists, too!” As Koji Yano, Wacom’s SVP of Branded Business, puts it: “The Wacom MovinkPad 11 is for people who just can’t stop drawing. Whether you love to doodle between classes or are moving up from drawing on a smartphone screen, this portable creative pad makes it easier and more fun to just draw. And this is just the beginning - stay tuned for what’s to come in the portable creative pad series.” While Wacom is pitching MovinkPad 11 as a kids’ tablet, the specs and inclusion of both Pro Pen 3 and Clip Studio Paint DEBUT suggest this is a new iPad alternative that many artists could use, especially if you’re not tied to the Apple ecosystem.
