
Greenwich Entertainment Acquires ‘Peter Asher: Everywhere Man,’ Documentary On British Music Legend Tied To McCartney, Ronstadt, James Taylor
EXCLUSIVE: Greenwich Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to Peter Asher: Everywhere Man , a feature documentary on the famed British pop star, producer and manager known for his key role launching the careers of Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor. ‘Outpost in Malaysia’United Artists/Pinnacle Productions Greenwich plans to release the film in theaters beginning June 19, with digital platforms to follow. Toronto-based Films We Like will handle the concurrent Canadian release. The documentary, which premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival, is directed by Dayna Goldfine and Dan Geller , the duo known for the acclaimed Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song . “ Everywhere Man chronicles Asher’s remarkable six-decade journey through the worlds of pop, folk, and rock,” notes a release, “from his early British Invasion chart-topping fame as half of the iconic duo Peter & Gordon and his close friendship with Paul McCartney, to his groundbreaking work as a producer and manager for artists such as James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. Featuring rare archival footage, intimate interviews, and never-before-heard stories, the film offers an illuminating portrait of a man who helped shape the soundtrack of multiple generations and continues to inspire musicians and fans around the globe.” Watch on Deadline The film is a production of WWOL, LLC in association with Tremolo Productions and Geller/Goldfine Productions. The acquisition deal was negotiated by Greenwich co-president Edward Arentz with Josh Braun, Dan Braun and Matt Burke of sales agent Submarine representing the filmmakers. Arentz commented, “One the many pleasures of the best documentaries is the sense of discovery, and Dayna and Dan’s latest will astound audiences with how deeply woven Peter’s story is with the fabric of pop cultural history.” In a statement, Goldfine said, “Dan and I are beyond thrilled to be entering into this partnership with the Greenwich team. Their commitment to honoring the tradition of watching films in cinemas parallels ours, and we can’t wait to embark together on the adventure of bringing Peter Asher: Everywhere Man to theatrical audiences and well beyond.” Peter Asher began his career as a child actor in the UK, “making his screen debut in 1952 as Claudette Colbert’s son in Outpost in Malaysia, ” as film writer Michael Fox noted in the program for the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival, where the documentary screened. “A dozen years later, as one half of Peter and Gordon, he scored a #1 hit in the UK and US with the pop duo’s very first single, ‘A World Without Love,’ written by his sister Jane’s boyfriend Paul McCartney.” Fox continued, “Transatlantic pop stardom was just the first peak Asher scaled; as the ‘60s gave way to the ’70s he segued smoothly to LA record producer and artist manager, conducting James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt to superstardom...
