A.P. CM calls for clear performance indicators to ensure efficient delivery of services
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed all government departments to design clear performance indicators to ensure faster, transparent and efficient delivery of services to citizens under the government’s ‘Speed of Delivering Governance’ initiative. Reviewing the progress of Swarna Andhra-2047 and its ten guiding principles with nodal officers at the Secretariat, Mr. Naidu said the principles should be implemented as ten focused missions with clearly defined outcomes. He instructed officials to prepare a robust mission framework and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve departmental efficiency and ensure measurable results. Zero Poverty Mission As part of the Zero Poverty Mission, Mr. Naidu stressed the need to advance the P4 approach and ensure close monitoring through Vision Monitoring Units. He said the mission aims to empower every family and provide long-term economic security to individuals through targeted interventions. The Chief Minister asked officials to formulate a comprehensive Population Management Policy, emphasising that skills development and employment generation must be treated as top priorities. He directed officials to disseminate information about the ten principles among the public to ensure awareness and participation. Water security Highlighting water security as a critical mission, Mr. Naidu called for efficient utilisation of water resources and regular water audits. He stressed leveraging technology to reduce agricultural input costs and urged a shift towards demand-driven crop production. Strengthening cold chain infrastructure and food processing facilities, he said it would help farmers secure better prices for their produce. He directed officials to strengthen the logistics sector to reduce transportation costs and called for a comprehensive Logistics Master Plan covering roads, railways, inland waterways, sea cargo, air cargo and cold chain infrastructure. Mr. Naidu emphasised the need to reduce electricity and fuel costs by adopting a producer-consumer-based approach. Citing Araku Coffee as a successful branding model, he highlighted the importance of product perfection. Under Swachh Andhra, he called for promoting a circular economy and maintaining high air and water quality standards. Chief Secretary K.
