Glamorous gang leader behind ‘drugging and robbery’ of Brit tourists in ‘Goodnight, Cinderella’ scam is FINALLY arrested

THE glamorous leader of a group of women who drugged and robbed British tourists in a “Good night, Cinderella” scam has finally been arrested. Raiane Campos de Oliveira, 27, was arrested by cops in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Wednesday after months on the run. She went into hiding after a horrifying attack on two Brit tourists following a night out in the city . But, she was being monitored by police who swooped on the flashy criminal during an operation targeting drug trafficking. Campos de Oliveira was the third and final woman accused of taking part in the so-called “Good Night, Cinderella” scam in which victims are drugged and robbed. Read More World News During a night out, the young pals met three women who offered them caipirinhas cocktails at a bar in the Lapa area. One of the victims said they took just two sips of the drink before passing out on Ipanema Beach. Terrifying footage shows one victim staggering along the beachfront and collapsing on the sand . The women are then seen running along the street and jumping into a taxi before quickly leaving the area. Scammer Campos de Oliveira had tried and tested the method in a series of previous crimes, police said. She has 25 criminal records, including 13 linked to the same type of scam. Just one month before targeting the Brit holidaymakers, she was released from a six month prison sentence. The other two suspects, Amanda Couto Deloca, 23, and Mayara Ketelyn Americo da Silva, 26, had already been arrested in August and September, respectively. Police said all three women are facing charges, including qualified robbery and criminal association. The ruse has become increasingly common in Brazil among sex workers and escorts who use Rohypnol, GHB - or any date rape drug - to drug tourists and rob them . Last year an urgent travel warning was issued to Brits after a series of terrifying cases. The same month the two Brits fell victim to the scam, Francini Demétrio Sitas, 23, was arrested on suspicion of drugging, robbing and beating a Frenchman in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Sitas, who reportedly works as an escort, is known in the criminal underworld as the “Queen of Goodnight Cinderella”, according to Rio’s Special Police Station for Tourist Support. A year earlier, American businessman D’wayne Antonio Morris, 43, died in a similar suspected drugging and robbery case in Brazil, reported local outlet g1 . Morris had arrived in Brazil just one day before he was found dead in his rented Copacabana apartment. And two women targeted holidaymakers Ronald Rafael Tejeda Sobarzo and Andrés Ignacio Orellana Ruiz. The pair slipped a date-rape drug into the men’s beers before stealing the men’s mobile phones.
