‘I Was Very Stupid’: Vlogger Anant Mittal Says ‘India Loses, China Wins’ After Detention In the video, Anant Mittal expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of response from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Indian travel vlogger Anant Mittal, popularly known as On Road Indian, posted an Instagram reel in which he said “India loses, China wins" and accused the Indian government of remaining silent following his detention by Chinese authorities earlier this month. In the video, Anant Mittal expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of response from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Recommended Stories “Now from here, the government should act. Or I will feel that our government got suppressed by China. MEA has not said anything on my matter and has left me in lurch," he said. Anant Mittal also criticised himself for expecting support, saying the episode had left him disillusioned. “I am considering myself very stupid to think that someone would speak out for me," he said, adding that the experience made him question his own expectations of institutional backing. The vlogger went on to say that people from China had reached out to him with messages of support. While stating that he had visited China several times and enjoyed its culture, Anant Mittal said his perspective had changed. “When no one cares about my matter, why should I care where the borderline is drawn. Let big people decide this," he remarked. The comments come days after Anant Mittal alleged that he was detained for nearly 15 hours at Guangzhou airport. In earlier social media posts and a YouTube video detailing the incident, he described the detention as mentally exhausting and repeatedly said, “Humaari koi aukaat nahi," to convey his sense of helplessness. According to Anant Mittal, he had travelled to China to meet a friend and was stopped during routine immigration checks. He claimed an official withheld his passport stamp, called a senior officer and escorted him to a detention area, where he was made to wait for hours. He said he was later questioned by officers who searched his luggage and confiscated his camcorders and mobile phone. Anant Mittal said that his detention was linked to a video in which he spoke about Arunachal Pradesh. The vlogger also claimed that he was not allowed to contact the Indian Embassy during his detention and that he did not receive food for more than 29 hours, eating only after reaching an airport lounge before boarding his return flight. “I just took a stand on a minor issue of Arunachal Pradesh. I won’t take any stand on any other controversial issue ever now," he said. Click here to add News18 as your preferred news source on Google. Latest India News along with detailed National Updates .
