One woman’s yearslong health battle has ended. A 48-year-old woman known publicly only as “B,” who claimed to be the secret daughter of Freddie Mercury in a book published in 2025, has died after being diagnosed with cancer years earlier. Her widower Thomas confirmed her passing to the Daily Mail on Jan. 15. Thomas shared his wife passed “peacefully after a long battle with chordoma, a rare spinal cancer, leaving two sons aged nine and seven.” “B is now with her beloved and loving father in the world of thoughts,” he continued. “Her ashes were scattered to the wind over the Alps.” B came forward with her claim in the 2025 book Love, Freddie , written by Lesley Ann Jones . In the book, B-also known as “BiBi,” the alleged nickname the Queen frontman had for her, per the Daily Mail -claimed Freddie fathered her during a 1976 affair. She also claimed to have DNA evidence to prove her parentage, though it hasn’t been shared at this time. Following B’s death, Lesley also shared her condolences. “I am devastated by the loss of this woman who became my close friend,” she told the Daily Mail , "who had come to me with a selfless aim: to brush aside all those who have had free rein with Freddie's story for 32 years, to challenge their lies and their rewriting of his life, and to deliver the truth.” “At the end of her life, it was all that mattered to her,” Lesley continued. “She was very ill throughout the four years that we worked together. But she was on a mission. She put herself and her own needs last.” Lesley’s book is based on 17 journals B was allegedly given by Freddie shortly before his death in 1991. The book claims, per the publication, that the Queen songs “Bijou” and “Don’t Try So Hard” were written about B, and that Freddie referred to he as his “trésor,” French for treasure. Following Love, Freddie ’s publication in September, a number of friends and loved ones of Freddie expressed their surprise that he wouldn’t have revealed the existence of a daughter during his lifetime, including his former fiancée Mary Austin . Mary, for her part, told The Sunday Times that she never saw Freddie keep a journal, even when they were living together at the time of the alleged first journal entry, nor did she or his bandmates know of a child’s existence. “Freddie had a glorious openness, and I cannot imagine he would have wanted to, or been able to, keep such a joyful event a secret, either from me or other people closest to him,” she said. “It would have brought tremendous joy to Freddie, and everybody who cared about him-including Freddie’s parents.” She added, “I believe that [ Bomi and Jer Bulsara ] would have embraced her with all the love in their heart. But I do not remember Freddie ever speaking about creating a family.” For the latest breaking news...
