Red Fort blast case: court extends judicial custody of seven till Jan. 8

A Delhi court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of seven accused in the Red Fort blast case till January 8, 2026. The November 10 blast had claimed 14 lives and injured dozens of people. Additional Sessions Judge Prashant Sharma of the Patiala House Courts ordered that Adeel Rather, Muzammil Ganaie, Shaheen Saeed, Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wagay, Jasir Bilal Wani, Amir Rashid Ali and Soyab will remain in judicial custody for 15 more days. Tight security The accused were produced in the court amid tight security by the National Investigation Agency. The media was not allowed in the courtroom. According to the central agency, the Red Fort blast was planned by a terror module spearheaded by a group of doctors who were actively scouting for a suicide bomber for a year. Umar-un-Nabi, the alleged key accused, was driving the explosive-laden car that detonated in the Capital. Following the blast, NIA arrested seven persons who are accused of facilitating and harbouring each other, along with providing him with logistical support and destroying evidence related to the terror attack.
