Three drug peddlers, 2 consumers arrested in separate cases; 12 LSD blots and 15 grams of MDMA seized
Three drug peddlers and two consumers were arrested by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force, Telangana, in coordination with Kushaiguda and Saroornagar police in separate operations across Sainikpuri, Neredmet and Saroornagar, seizing 12 LSD blots weighing 0.2 grams and 15 grams of MDMA along with mobile phones. In the first case, four persons were arrested. They were identified as Ritish Sudharshanam Arkilla, a student of Osmania University from Hanumanpet in Malkajgiri; Dennis Martin, a private employee from Utham Nagar in Malkajgiri; M. Satish Kumar, a DJ player from Kapra in Sainikpuri, and Panda Stevehans from A.S. Rao Nagar in Neredmet. While Ritish and Dennis were drug consumers, Satish and Stevehans were involved in peddling, police said. Following a tip-off, a team of the Hyderabad Narcotics Police wing of the EAGLE Force, along with Kushaiguda police, first apprehended the two consumers. Based on their statements, a follow up operation led to the arrest of the two peddlers at a coffee shop in Sainikpuri. Police recovered 12 LSD blots weighing 0.2 grams and four mobile phones from their possession. During questioning, Stevehans stated that the drugs were procured from Rahul alias Tika of Sainikpuri, Neredmet, who is absconding. Police said efforts were underway to trace him. The seized drugs and the arrested persons in the first case were handed over to Kushaiguda police for further investigation. In the second case, EAGLE Force personnel along with the Saroornagar police arrested a drug peddler in Saroornagar and seized 15 grams of MDMA and one mobile phone from him. The accused was identified as Boinapally Krishna Sai Varshith alias Sunny, 25, a resident of Cherukuthota Colony, Saroornagar. Police said that the MDMA drug was found concealed inside the cotton stuffing of a travel neck pillow carried by the accused. After an initial search of his backpack yielded nothing, officers noticed loose stitching on the pillow and recovered the contraband during a detailed check. Varshith had moved to Bengaluru in search of employment, where he became addicted to MDMA and began purchasing the drug from local suppliers. He reportedly sourced MDMA from an African supplier identified as Mary, also known as Tamiya, at ₹1,500 per gram and sold it in Hyderabad for ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 per gram. Transactions were conducted through bank transfers and QR codes, with drugs delivered at secluded locations in a “dead drop” method, avoiding direct contact. Investigation revealed that Varshith’s network included 13 customers, four friends who assisted in collecting money, and eight individuals whose accounts and UPI scanners were used by the supplier to receive payments. Police said intensified surveillance has been put in place across Telangana ahead of the New Year and warned that anyone involved in drug trafficking, including facilitators, would face strict legal action.
