Two youth killed as truckhits bike on Poonamallee Bypass in city
Two teenagers, including a college student, were killed after a lorry carrying chickens allegedly rammed their motorcycle on the Poonamallee Bypass in the early hours of Saturday. The victims were identified as P. Nirmal, 19, a second-year B.Com student, and his friend S. Santhosh, 16, who worked as a load man at a vegetable market in Avadi. Both were residents of Parivakkam. The police said the accident occurred around 3.30 a.m. near the lorry showroom when the duo were out to get refreshments. A lorry travelling from Nagari to Royapettah, driven by A. Nisar Ahmed, 31, allegedly took a sudden left turn and hit the two-wheeler. Head injuries In the impact, both of them were thrown off the motorcycle and suffered severe head and abdominal injuries.
