Software employee killed, another injured as motorcycle crashes into pavement in Gachibowli

A 23-year-old software employee was killed and another man injured after a motorcycle crashed into a pavement near the IRDAI gate in Gachibowli in the early hours of Friday (December 26, 2025). The deceased was identified as Punit Yadav, a software employee and a native of Warangal. According to the Gachibowli police, the accident was reported around 1.30 a.m. when Punit was riding the motorcycle from the US Consulate side towards the ICICI Bank junction, with a pillion rider. “The rider lost control of the speeding vehicle, ploughed into a crowd near the pavement on the left side of the road and came to a halt after crashing into it,” said Gachibowli Inspector K Balaraju. Punit sustained severe head injuries and collapsed at the spot. He was shifted to a hospital, where he was declared dead. The pillion rider, who had also sustained injuries due to the impact, was also shifted to a hospital and his condition is stated to be stable. The official said that the rider may have been under the influence of alcohol, though confirmation is awaited. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
