Yuzvendra Chahal Says He Is ‘Happy Single,’ Addresses RJ Mahvash Dating Rumours

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal found himself in the midst of controversy in March 2025, due to his messy separation from ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma. Having tied the knot in 2020, she was slut-shamed and abused by his fans. On the other hand, he also faced the wrath of netizens after being spotted with his rumoured girlfriend, RJ Mahvash, everywhere, before his divorce was even finalised. Now, he has spoken up about the same during an interview with Mashable India’s The Bombay Journey. When hinted at the viral videos of him and Mahvash, Chahal dismissed the dating rumours. He maintained his stance and stated that he is happily single and not in a relationship with anyone. Calling her a friend, he added, “ Yaar, dost waghaire ghumte hai toh problem nahi hai na ki video aa jata hai (It’s not a problem as videos of friends roaming around surface on the internet) . No relationship. Happy single. ” Further in the conversation, he also commented on the social media trolling he has been facing since the initial days of his career. Expressing how he has grown indifferent to the trolling and hate, he revealed that it doesn’t bother him much anymore. “ Maine apne life mein trolling se leke, galliyon se leke, maa-behen ki gaali, sab dekhi hai on social media. Toh main uss cheez se nikal chuka hoon. Mujhe itna farak nahi padta, log gali deke jaayengey, koi problem nahi. Meri built pe maine bohot trolling dekhi hai life mein, mere daaton pe dekhi hai. Jisko troll karna hai woh mujhe kya, kisiko bhi troll karega, ” the 35-year-old cricketer said. The cricketer went on to add that the trolling used to affect him during the initial days of his career because it was very new for him. He said, “ Starting mein affect karta tha kyunki yeh cheez nayi thi. Koi itna ganda bhi bol sakta hai, without meeting me or my family. Ab toh apna open Instagram hai, jisko aana hai aao, gaali deke jao. Hate aayegi ab, khuch rahe woh bhi, hate karne waale. ” Yuzvendra Chahal also revealed that he suffered through a lot of anxiety and panic attacks during the tough time of his divorce with his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma. Shedding more light on the same, he explained that during the attacks, his hands would shiver, his face would shrink and go numb. Sometimes, things went so badly that he would lose consciousness. When asked about how he overcame it, he explained that he underwent therapy sessions, which helped him a lot. Now, he is fit and fine.
