DIET student ‘ends life’ in Vizianagaram

A 22-year-old second-year student at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Venugopalapuram of Vizianagaram district, died by suicide in the early hours of Wednesday.​ Koneti Mahesh, a resident of Jilleduvalasa in Saluru mandal of Parvatipuram-Manyam district, was found dead in the reading room adjacent to his hostel. A suicide note reportedly cited psychological distress and family problems as reasons for the extreme step, according to Vizianagaram rural police station house officer Ashok Kumar.​ DIET in-charge principal Appala Naidu alerted the police, who arranged a post-mortem at Vizianagaram Government General Hospital.
