
âThe Pittâ Creator R. Scott Gemmill Signs With UTA
R. Scott Gemmill has signed has signed with UTA for representation in all areas. The news comes soon after the Season 2 premiere of âThe Pitt,â on which Gemmill serves as creator, showrunner and executive producer. The medical procedural drama reteams him with Noah Wyle, who executive produces in addition to starring, and who starred in NBCâs âER,â which Gemmill wrote and produced on for nine seasons from 1999 to 2007. Season 1 scored a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and Season 2 crept even higher with a 99%; Variety critic Alison Herman wrote of a âtriumphant return,â saying the season âthrives in quieter moments, especially as the actors ever so slightly modulate their performances to reflect the evolution of their characters.â It has already been renewed for a third season . So far, âThe Pittâ has won five Emmys and two Golden Globes, including both awards for best drama series and lead drama actor (Wyle). Gemmill was also nominated for the drama writing award for âThe Pittâ and received two best drama series nominations during the run of âER.â Popular on Variety Gemmillâs credits as a writer and producer also include âNCIS: Los Angelesâ and âJAG,â both on CBS.
