Chief Keef fans were clutching their chest as rumors that he was shot went viral on Wednesday. Sosa himself never addressed the chatter and concern, but his manager, Idris Dykes , has since cleared the air. Additionally, The Shade Room also confirmed the same update with two sources close to the rapper. RELATED: At It Again?! Sexyy Red & King Von’s Sister Kayla B Are Seemingly Trading Shots Over Chief Keef Chief Keef Team Shuts Down Shooting Rumors The rumor that Chief Keef was shot in the face seemingly started on X (formerly Twitter) account @TommyGoBraazy . It’s unclear where the account sourced its information, but it tweeted out the alleged fake news on the morning of January 14, along with two photos of Sosa. The caption read , “Popular Rapper “Chief Keef” has reportedly been shot 6x in the face after returning to O’block after 15 years to film a music video, he is currently on life support 😳. Pray for Chief Keef.” The post got over 2.3 million views, more than 1,000 retweets and comments, and over 13,000 likes. By Wednesday afternoon, though, Chief Keef’s manager confirmed that the drill rapper had not visited Chicago in two years, including his old neighborhood, O-Block (Parkway Gardens). Idris Dykes told Fox 32 Chicago that Chief Keef is fine and not shot. A source from the rapper’s team also told The Shade Room: “No, this is false. Keef has not been to Chicago since he did Summer Smash two years ago.” Additionally, The Shade Room spoke to a source on Chief Keef’s security team in Los Angeles. This source also shut down the rumors of a shooting. Despite Idris Dykes and other sources shutting down the shooting news, the viral post is still active on @TommyGoBraazy’s account. Also, the account still has “Get well Sosa” in its X bio and no signs of a retraction. However, X has added a context box to the tweet, explaining that it’s false and that there’s no evidence to support a shooting. Fans React With Relief After Shooting Shutdown After the updated news from Chief Keef’s manager, fans took a collective breath of relief. There was hope that the rapper’s story hadn’t ended like that of his enemy, Chicago drill rapper King Von. Recent years have seen on-the-rise and iconic rappers dead from tragic shootings. That list includes names like Pop Smoke, Takeoff, Julio Foolio, XXXTentacion, PnB Rock, JayDaYoungan, Young Dolph, and Nipsey Hussle. Thankfully, per the sources highlighted above, that’s reportedly not Chief Keef’s story. On X and other social media platforms, fans shared their reactions to the update on his health. I feel like people posting fake ai pics and fake news accounts should get banned cause why you spreading fake news... someone said chief keef got shot in the face 6x and is on life support rn, do you know how detrimental that is?! - αb (@suckafreeAB) January 14, 2026 heard chief keef got shot 6 times in the face and was...
