Kala Sujaya, a centre for Indian classical arts, is organising a Bharatanatyam dance recital titled Prathama Pallava by Kumari Poorna Pawar, a six-year-old dance enthusiast, at Sawai Gandharva Hall at 5.30 p.m. on Sunday. Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Wednesday, founder of Kala Sujaya Sujay Shanbhag said that despite her tender age, Kumari Poorna Pawar will present a two-hour debut solo Bharatanatyam performance. The budding artiste has also been acclaimed as a budding star by Ananya Trust, a prestigious dance institution in Bengaluru, he said. As part of the recital, Kumari Poorna Pawar will receive the Guru’s blessings in the form of Gejje, symbolising her readiness to perform before an audience, Sujay Shanbhag said.
