Nawazuddin Siddiqui And Huma Qureshi Wrap Umar Qaid Lucknow Shoot, Move To Bhopal: Report Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi wrapped Lucknow filming for Umar Qaid, now shooting a jail sequence in Bhopal. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi have completed filming the Lucknow leg of their upcoming feature film Umar Qaid and have now shifted base to Bhopal for the next phase of the shoot. The team is currently filming an important jail sequence in Madhya Pradesh. The film, directed by writer-turned-filmmaker Vinay Chhawal, also features Priyamani, Faisal Malik and Manav Vij, who plays a police officer. Line-producer Gyanendra Singh confirmed that the Lucknow schedule has wrapped. The cast and crew were in the city from November 30 to December 25, shooting extensively across multiple locations. Recommended Stories While the jail sequence was initially planned in Uttar Pradesh, the team had to alter its plans. “The jail sequence was scheduled to be shot in the Barabanki prison - where Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 was filmed - but that could not happen. So the team moved to Bhopal, where they will shoot until January 1," a source revealed. During their Lucknow schedule, the makers shot for over three weeks in Malihabad and several prominent parts of the city, including Qaiserbagh, Chowk, Naka Hindola, the Hussainabad heritage zone and Mehmudabad Palace. The production largely maintained secrecy around the shoot, with limited public sightings. “The shoot was kept under wraps until they filmed some portions at Rumi Gate and Clock Tower for a mela scene. Some local influencers made videos and posted them on social media. A few of these videos, which showed the actors in costume and in action, were later taken down," the source added. Umar Qaid is produced by Academy Award winner Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, which has previously shot projects like Pagglait in Lucknow. Director Vinay Chhawal is best known for writing Angrezi Medium, Looop Lapeta and Zindagi inShort, along with the OTT series Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side. Both Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi share a long association with Lucknow as a shooting destination. The duo, who rose to fame with Gangs of Wasseypur 2, have returned to the city several times for film projects. Huma has earlier shot Jolly LLB 2 and Single Salmaa there, while Nawazuddin has filmed titles such as Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Raat Akeeli Hai, Jogira Sara Ra Ra! and the recent OTT release Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders. view comments News movies bollywood Nawazuddin Siddiqui And Huma Qureshi Wrap Umar Qaid Lucknow Shoot, Move To Bhopal: Report Terms of Use and Privacy Policy .
