Legendary recording artist Barry Manilow revealed that he’s been diagnosed with lung cancer and will need to reschedule some of his upcoming concerts. The 82-year-old “Copacabana” singer gave an update to fans with a statement posted to Instagram. “The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed,” Manilow wrote in the statement. “It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early,” he went on. “The doctors do not believe it has spread, and I’m taking tests to confirm their diagnosis.” The singer said he is “going into surgery to have the spot removed,” which means he’ll have to reschedule the January shows on his “Christmas: A Gift of Love” series.
