The project is another high-profile package Stuber has landed since setting his new deal at Amazon having also recently landed the highly-coveted Heat 2 from Michael Mann. Once a deal closes for Powell, the project will be a high priority for the studio though not next up for the busy star who is about shooting the second season of Chad Powers and will likely follow that up with the untitled Judd Apatow comedy at Universal in the spring. Watch on Deadline Powell is coming off a very busy year that included his critically acclaimed perf in the hit Hulu series Chad Powers, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination, as well as starring in the Paramount sci-fi action pic The Running Man. 2026 looks to be just as busy as he will be seen next in the A24 pic How To Make A Killing opposite Margaret Qualley as well as the new project from J.J. Abrams. As for Esmail, he most recently directed the hit feature adaptation of Leave the World Behind starring Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali and Ethan Hawke. Powell and Esmail are repped by CAA.
