'They're aiming for the eyes' - horror as kill squads flood Tehran streets WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. As demonstrations continues across Iran, shocking reports have emerged from witnesses who claim to have seen police delibrately 'aiming for the eyes' of protestors Disturbing accounts have emerged from Iran, where witnesses claim police are "aiming for the eyes" of protestors. Scenes of chaos are sweeping across the country, including in the capital of Tehran, in what has been described as the most significant nationwide protest against the Islamic Republic in over three years. A growing economic crisis has created widespread tensions across Iran, which reached a boiling point towards the end of December, when the Iranian rial plummeted to an all-time low against the US dollar. On December 28, shopkeepers took to Tehran's central bazaar to have their voices heard, with demonstrations quickly spreading like wildfire beyond the capital. Horrifyingly, there have been reports of the death toll exceeding 500 as authorities make reportedly bloody attempts to clamp down on the mass unrest, which shows no sign of easing. I don’t know how long the internet will be working, but we are thousands on the streets, and I fear I will wake up to hundreds of casualties.” Meanwhile, in a separate interview with Time, which today reported that the true death toll could already be in the thousands, a resident of northeast Tehran's Niavaran neighbourhood also supported accounts of these horrific eye injuries. Speaking yesterday (Sunday, January 11), they shared: “It’s not so busy tonight. With this level of killings we’ve seen, everyone says I’ve lost a cousin, or a friend, or knows someone killed, and add to that so many people blinded. In Farabi Hospital, they had to empty so, so many eye sockets.” This comes as UK-based regime opposition groups told the Mirror of incidents involving officers gunning down protesters, with hospitals so inundated with the dying that there was no chance of even beginning CPR on many patients. One anonymous medic previously told us that police had been firing "direct shots to the heads of the young people, to their hearts as well". He added, “It's horrific. Every night, the protests go on until after midnight. They are shooting at people. They're firing...
