Subramanian on Wednesday inaugurated two newly-constructed dining halls for sanitation workers in Saidapet. . The facilities are located at Gangai Amman Koil Street and West Jones Road . The dining hall in Gangai Amman Koil Street was built at a cost of ₹19.70 lakh over an area of 600 square feet (sq.ft), while the hall in West Jones Road was constructed at a cost of ₹12 lakh over 500 sq.ft. “Sanitation workers deployed under the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme rotational system are provided meals three times a day . A total of 20 such food halls are being established across 16 wards in the Kodambakkam zone,” the minister said at the event. According to a press release, the newly inaugurated halls are equipped with purified drinking water, tables, chairs, electric fans and lighting facilities. Published - December 25, 2025 03:15 am IST
