Lord Krishna cared for Pandavas
Duryodhana never cared about his own well-being. He only wanted the Pandavas not to succeed. Driven by jealousy, he made plan after plan to break them apart. Meanwhile, the Pandavas trusted Lord Krishna completely, showing deep devotion. Dr. Venkatesh said in a discourse that Krishna protected and saved the Pandavas in many remarkable ways. When Draupathi was humiliated by Dussasana, she called out to ‘Govinda’ in a state of helplessness. Even though Lord Krishna was not there, He rescued her, showing that His “Nama” has the power to protect and save. Likewise, when sage Durvasa arrived with many disciples to test the Pandavas, Lord Krishna again helped them, turning a serious problem into a moment of grace. For His devotees, the Lord will take even the simplest role. His humility stands out in His choice to act as a messenger for the Pandavas. Because He cared for them, Lord Krishna said the enemies of His devotees were His own and declared that the Pandavas were as close to Him as his own breath. The Lord even changes the cosmic order to protect those who trust Him. For example, Lord Krishna altered the date of the war’s start that Sahadeva had predicted at Duryodhana’s request. The Lord also helped the Pandavas defeat Jayadratha, who was unconquerable, and protected them from Narayana astra, the most powerful one released by Aswathama. Arjuna would not have been saved from the Nagastra released by Karna but for the timely action of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna also blessed Arjuna with the “Gitopadesa,” a timeless spiritual teaching still revered today. After the war, Lord Krishna guided the Pandavas to approach Acharya Bhishma. As a result, they received divine blessings in the form of the “Vishnu SahasraNama.” Published - December 22, 2025 05:15 am IST
