Guntur spine surgeon receives awards from Indian Orthopaedic Association

Dr. J. Naresh Babu, Chief of Spine Services at Mallika Spine Centre in Guntur, has won three national honours at the 70th Annual Conference of the Indian Orthopaedic Association held recently in Guwahati, Assam, bringing recognition to Andhra Pradesh. According to a press release here from Mallika Spine Centre on Monday (December 22, 2025), at the conference’s inaugural session, Dr. Naresh Babu received the HKT Raza Gold Medal 2024 for Best Spine Research. The award recognised his study on identifying suitable patients for Endoscopic Spine Surgery, a minimally invasive procedure used in spine care. He was also named the recipient of the SP Mandal Gold Medal 2025 for Innovative and Rational Orthopaedics. The research examines the impact of routine daily activities on lumbar disc health and degeneration, offering insights into factors contributing to chronic back pain The medal will be formally presented at the next IOA conference in Ahmedabad. Adding to these achievements, Dr. Naresh Babu was selected for the Golden Jubilee Oration Award 2025. He delivered a lecture during a plenary session in Guwahati.
