READ MORE: Tyler, The Creator - âDonât Tap The Glassâ review: a fun disco-rap rewind rooted in hip-hop history The rapper is reflecting on a whirlwind year thatâs seen him pick up six Grammy nominations for his eighth studio album â Donât Tap The Glass â, embark on a sold-out world tour and earn his first major film role in Marty Supreme . Released on Christmas Day, âSag Harborâ sees him look back on 2025 while also wondering what will come next, including shopping for â estates, not a mansion â and upgrading his live shows to stadium tours. He also thanks his fans for their support, signing off the freestyle saying: âWhat an incredible year, thank you for all the eyes and ears.â Alongside âSag Harborâ, Tyler also released a new âfreak mixâ for âDonât Tap The Glassâ track âSugar on My Tongueâ. Check out both tracks below. Recommended NME gave âDonât Tap the Glassâ four stars, in a review that read : âShedding the cinematic sprawl and narrative pathos of last yearâs âChromakopiaâ, Tyler steps away from the character-driven framing of Wolf Haley or Sir Baudelaire. âThe paranoia and parasocial tension explored on that record still linger - but beneath cartoonish â80s rap armour. Instead of inviting connection, Tyler shields himself behind the glass: a museum piece for dance and display only.â Shortly after the album came out, he also released a clean version at the request of a fan , and revealed that he originally planned for âChromakopiaâ to be his âlast album for a very long timeâ . The LP landed at Number 38 in NME âs list of the 50 Best Albums of 2025 . The entry read: âNine albums in and hot on the heels of âChromakopiaâ , âDonât Tap The Glassâ is Tyler, the Creator at his playful best. Eschewing a concept, punchy rhythms and retro synths balance an undeniable dance spirit with â80s hip hop and inimitable, cocksure braggadocio; itâs frivolous, fast and, most importantly, recklessly fun.â In May, NME caught him live in London, giving his performance a glowing five-star review, which read: âAs Tyler wishes us a farewell, he remains humble, but tonight is no small feat. With outfit changes, multiple stages and live vocals front-and-centre, Tyler flips through his eras like a masterclass in fearless reinvention. âFrom the raw menace of âGoblinâ to the kaleidoscopic chaos of âChromakopiaâ, tonight is a vivid, wild ride through the mind of rapâs ultimate maverick - and London is lucky to be along for the journey.â Tyler also recently joined Doja Cat , Janelle MonĂĄe , and Killer Mike for an OutKast tribute at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which drew mixed reactions on social media, although Tylerâs hand in the performance earned praise...
