Teen’s body found in Munak Canal; 2 arrested

Two persons have been arrested in connection with killing of a teenager, whose body was recovered from Munak Canal in Outer North Delhi, the police said on Wednesday. 18-year-old Ankit was allegedly drugged before being murdered by two of his friends over a dispute for his relationship with a cousin of one of the accused. “The victim’s hands and feet were tied with shoelaces and a handkerchief was found around his neck. Three sharp injuries were also visible on his head. A case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami. The police received information about the missing complaint only after the Special Cell in Rohini arrested Ashish, 23, on an unrelated matter. “During questioning, Ashish confessed to the killing and provided crucial information about the whereabouts of co-accused Vishal Dhilod (23), who was subsequently arrested,” he said.
