Bugonia premiered at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival, where it received mostly positive reviews, before heading to theaters nationwide on Oct. 31. It didn't break any box office records, but most of the awards season favorites didn't. It's earned an 87 percent critic rating and 84 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes , as well as three Golden Globe nominations and three Critics Choice Awards nominations . Oscar nods are likely to follow.
