Rohit Sharma played a Vijay Hazare Trophy match for Mumbai after more than 7 years on Wednesday (December 24) and made it a special one for him and his fans by scoring a century in just 62 balls. The century in just 62 balls by Rohit during Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group C match against Sikkim at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur helped him break his previous record of a 63-ball century, which he made against Afghanistan during India’s 2023 ODI World Cup league match in Delhi on October 11. Rohit, who is the world’s No. 1 ODI batter, faced a total of 94 balls on Wednesday and, with the help of 18 fours and 9 sixes, scored 155 runs. By playing a knock of 155 runs in Mumbai’s 8-wicket win, Rohit equalled David Warner’s world record of most 150+ scores in List A cricket.
