âHow To Get To Heaven From Belfastâ: Three Friends Embark On A Dark & Hilarious Odyssey Around Ireland In Netflix Trailer For Lisa McGeeâs Latest Series
Ever since Derry Girls concluded nearly four years back, audiences have been eagerly awaiting Lisa McGee âs next move. Today, Netflix has dropped trailer for How to get to Heaven from Belfast, McGeeâs next show that is infused with a fair bit of Derry Girlsâ DNA alongside some added thriller for good value. Starring Roisin Gallagher, SinĂ©ad Keenan and Caoilfhionn Dunne, the show follows clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse, glamorous, stressed-out mother of three Robyn, and dependable, inhibited carer Dara, who have been a tight-knit group since school. Now in their late 30s, they are about to embark on the most thrilling adventure of their lives. When an email arrives, telling them about the death of the estranged fourth member of their childhood gang, a series of eerie events at her wake set them on an odyssey through Ireland and beyond. The series was initially commissioned for Derry Girls network Channel 4 but, in a sign of the times, it switched to Netflix, with Channel 4 citing ârising costsâ and âthe recent cooling in the U.S. co-production market.â Watch on Deadline McGee is exec producing alongside Liz Lewin, who is about to join Netflix UK as Director of Comedy, Hat Trick Productions boss Jimmy Mulville, Jessica Sharkey, Caroline Leddy and Michael Lennox. Lennox is director and Brian. Falconer is producing the eight-parter.
