Berkshire Hathaway: End Of An Era? The Market's Doubts Won't Last Summary Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B) will soon enter the Greg Abel era as CEO, with Warren Buffett remaining Chair to ensure continuity, as he hands over the reins to Abel. Recent Alphabet (GOOGL) purchase signals an interesting development, which also involved relatively high multiples, posting probing questions about who made that call? Key management changes, including departures of key lieutenants, raise questions about Abel's strategic direction in the post-Buffett era. Abel's early moves after he assumes CEO will be scrutinized for signals into his capital allocation and management philosophy, which could induce volatility. With Berkshire stock having already reflected a discount to account for Buffett's impending departure, buyers should relish the chance to buy more now. Analyst’s Disclosure: I/we have a beneficial long position in the shares of GOOGL, BRK.B either through stock ownership, options, or other derivatives.
