How to Get Connor Storrie’s Mussed-Up Hockey Hair, According to His Stylist

How to Get Connor Storrie’s Mussed-Up Hockey Hair, According to His Stylist

By Marcus MitropoulosGQ

Lid. Lettuce. Flow. All of these are terms used to describe the typical hairstyle of a hockey player. Something that Heated Rivalry 's Connor Storrie isn't just redefining, but making look red carpet-ready. Usually tucked behind the ears, it's the go-to for guys who don't want their helmet to dig into their neck. On his way out of The Today Show in New York City, Storrie wore a black leather jacket with a ribbed finish on the bottom for cinching, styled over a clean dress shirt. That denim was a shade all men need in their wardrobe, and the square-toed boots gave off a little yeehaw energy. But, of course, the highlight of it all was just how perfect (and imperfect) his hair was. His fringe curled down onto his forehead, without any excess volume or fuss up top. And the back sits in a way that would make Jacob Elordi and Jeremy Allen White equally as proud. It's the sort of style you wish you had the moment you woke up, or how you think you look after a few sweaty hours of dancing in a nightclub. Kerrie Urban , a hair stylist that Storrie has worked with many times in the past, says she loves his willingness to take risks with his look. “I love that it has almost a '70s vintage vibe, but his wardrobe is usually chic and modern,” she said. “Connor really does have a timeless look, and he can be a chameleon.” And that's the beautiful thing about having hair like that . He can switch between styles seamlessly, and still look, as Urban puts it, “leading man handsome.” He's blessed us with perfect cherubic curls, and at the Golden Globes , he even took inspo from Kurt Cobain's 1986 mugshot . Sure, Connor Storrie has hit the genetic lottery in multiple departments, but his looks can be easily replicated by those with similar hair textures . “He's very low maintenance and day-to-day just does his own thing with little to no product,” said Urban. “But for carpets and press, on wet hair, I use a nickel-sized amount of the Oribe Styling Butter Curl Enhancing Cream to define curls and combat frizz. Then I diffuse the hair with the Dyson blow dryer with a diffuser attachment.” This story originally appeared in British GQ.
