‘The Rise Ezhumin’ to organise 4-day conference in Madurai; MoUs worth ₹2,000 crore to be signed

‘The Rise Ezhumin’, which has been founded with the objective of strengthening cooperation among Tamil industrialists across the world will organise its 4-day conference in Madurai from January 8 for improving trade relations and attracting investments. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Rev. Dr. Jegath Gasper, founder of ‘The Rise Ezhumin’ said ‘The Rise Ezhumin’ organisation, which was established in 2018 to Tamil industrialists and skilled technocrats across the globe and has its presence in more than 40 countries, would ogranise its 16 th international conference in Madurai from January 8 to 11 to strengthen the trade relations. More than 2,000 Tamil entrepreneurs and technocrats from 50 countries including the USA, Canada, Switzerland, France, Germany, UK, Italy, UAE, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore would participate to sign MoUs worth about ₹2,000 crore. “We expect the participation of more than 100 Tamil industrialists from Switzerland, 150 participants from the Middle East and Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence Director Cecil Sundar will participate in this conference. New participants from Reunion Islands, Kazakhstan, Ghana, South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Kenya has further strengthened the objective behind starting ‘The Rise Ezhumin’. We expect to exceed the investment target proposal of ₹2,000 crore,” Rev. Fr. Gasper said. The conference to be held at GRT Hotel and Ida Scudder Hall near Velammal Hospital is expected to discuss in detail about the impact of US tariff which has badly affected leather, footwear, food processing seafood, engineering and software industries. A special ‘jallikattu’ will be organised in view of this conference on January 8 and ‘Global Tamils Unity Pongal’ celebrated at Keeladi. “We eye for greater cooperation among the global Tamil industrialists, especially with the Tamil industrialists in India,” Rev.
