KCCI to plant 5,000 saplings during Green Initiative Year

The Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has declared 2026 as the Green Initiative Year during which Green Certificates will be issued to guests visiting the chamber. As part of the initiative, the chamber has committed to planting 5,000 saplings to promote environmental sustainability along with economic growth. Addressing the media along with other office-bearers, KCCI president G.K. Adappagoudar announced that the chamber will launch new awareness programmes for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and extend support to facilitate access to various government financial assistance schemes. He added that upgrading industrial estates will be a top priority for KCCI to ensure a clean and business-friendly environment. KCCI will further advocate modernisation of godowns at Gadag, Badami, Haveri, Ranebennur and the Amargol APMC Yard in Hubballi to enhance efficiency of freight movement, he said. Mr. Adappagoudar also said that KCCI will actively contribute to the “Beyond Bengaluru” initiative outlined in the Karnataka IT Policy 2025-2030 which aims to foster balanced regional IT growth by transforming emerging cities into globally competitive IT and ITeS hubs.
