Yet, that was just the start of the fireworks, as Rozman's 56.e6?? gave Black a chance to weave a mating yet. Song missed his opportunity and 56...Bd8 57. g6 Rg4?? gave White a winning moment. Rozman couldn't make the most of it either, forcing a rook and knight against a rook ending. The extra knight was an advantage, but it shouldn't be enough to force a win. Song was up to the defensive task and held the ending without difficulty. The match continues with another classical game on January 16, when Song will have the white pieces. The third day of the match will feature four rapid games, followed by eight blitz games on the final day.
