EXCLUSIVE: All Her Fault producer Carnival Films has landed on its next big domestic thriller. Carnival is making a TV series adaptation with Three Pines’ Emilia di Girolamo of Alice Feeney ’s novel My Husband’s Wife, which publishes in five days’ time. Feeney is the author of His & Hers, which is currently topping Netflix charts around the world via an adaptation starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson. My Husband’s Wife centers on Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, whose world is turned upside down when she returns home to find another woman living in her house claiming to be married to her husband. Told across dual timelines, the story unravels as secrets surface, identities blur, and the consequences of deception, obsession and revenge come into focus. Casting is not yet set and Carnival will soon take out to buyers. Carnival, the Universal International Studios (UIS) scripted development team, and Universal Studio Group’s Creative Acquisitions and IP team, led by Jordan Moblo, partnered to identify and secure the rights to the novel. Carnival is owned by UIS. Watch on Deadline “We’re delighted to welcome Alice Feeney’s addictive new thriller My Husband’s Wife to our slate at Carnival,” said creative director Noemi Spanos. “Alice has crafted a story that captivated us from the first few pages and we’re honoured that Emilia di Girolamo has joined forces with us as we become the proud creative home for this powerhouse piece of fiction.” Feeney said My Husband’s Wife has “found such a good home, with an amazing team of talented people.” Carnival is behind Peacock’s most-streamed show in history, the Sarah Snook-starrer All Her Fault, along with two seasons of Sky and Peacock’s The Day of the Jackal and hits like Downton Abbey. Feeney has written eight novels. The adaptation of her glossy novel His & Hers launched on Netflix last week as domestic thrillers remain in vogue. Feeney’s novel Rock Paper Scissors is also in the works with Netflix and The Crown producer Suzanne Mackie. Di Girolamo is attached to adapt My Husband’s Wife while Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant will serve as executive producers for Carnival.
