Scare For Dhaka Capitals As Assistant Coach Collapses Before Game: Report Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Zaki collapsed before the Rajshahi Royals BPL game and was pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital. Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Zaki, on Saturday, December 27, collapsed ahead of his team’s game against the Rajshahi Royals in the Bangladesh Premier League, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo. He was taken to the hospital soon after. Zaki collapsed during the Capitals’ pre-match preparations and was administered CPR before being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Recommended Stories In an official statement, Dhaka Capitals said that Zaki collapsed during a training session before match proceedings started and was given immediate medical attention at the venue. “Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Zaki became unwell during practice and collapsed on the ground. He was administered CPR straight away and rushed to the hospital. Further updates will be shared after medical examinations," the statement said. Just two days earlier, Zaki had addressed the media about Dhaka Capitals’ preparations for the tournament. On match day, he was involved with the cricketers as well, overseeing final drills and discussions ahead of the team’s opening BPL game. However, moments before the match, Zaki’s condition worsened. On-site medical staff administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation and when there was no visible improvement, he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance under close medical supervision. By then, it was too late. Doctors at the hospital pronounced Zaki dead, a BCB source confirmed to Somoy News. However, a franchise source said that Zaki was still breathing while in the ambulance.
