12 new GHMC Zonal Commissioners take charge

The newly appointed Zonal Commissioners of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) took charge of the posts on Friday (December 26, 2025). Telangana Government on Thursday issued orders approving re-organisation of the corporation into 12 Zones and 60 Circles. The Corporation earlier had six Zones and 30 Circles. The GHMC also announced completion of delimitation of 300 Wards. The government also took up rejig of IAS officers on Thursday transferring and giving them new postings - including of the new zones. Nagar and Serilingampally. The six new Zones are Uppal, Quthbullapur, Malkajgiri, Shamshabad, Golconda and Rajendranagar. The Golconda Zonal Commissioner office was arranged at Abids. While phone numbers of the 12 Zonal Commissioners were released to the Media, the new zones or contact numbers of the officers did not reflect in the GHCM website till Friday early afternoon at least.
