
âHigh Potentialâ Season 2 Casts âThis Is Usâ Alum Susan Kelechi Watson in Guest Role
Susan Kelechi Watson is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of â High Potential .â Watson will appear in the Jan. 27 episodes of the ABC procedural, which is titled âNPC.â The desciption for the episode states, âWhen a former esports champion is mysteriously murdered, both his gaming rival and a sushi chef are under suspicion. Time spent with Elliot (Matthew Lamb) unexpectedly provides Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) with insights on the case. Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) reconnects with a woman from his past.â Watson will play the woman from Kardecâs past. The character is further described as âwry, open-hearted, and independent. Always chasing whatâs next, not out of recklessness, but out of a real appetite for life. She follows her curiosity wherever it leads, whether thatâs a new city, a new flavor, or a new chapter.â Popular on Variety Watson is best known for her time on the hit NBC series âThis Is Us,â having appeared in the show as Beth Pearson throughout its six-season run at the broadcast network. Watsonâs other TV credits include âThe Residenceâ at Netflix, âWill Trentâ at NBC, and âLouieâ at FX. In film, Watson is known for her roles in features such as âA Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.â She is repped by UTA, Authentic, and Jackoway Austen. âHigh Potentialâ debuted its second season in September. Kaitlin Olson returns as Morgan, âa single mom with an exceptional mind, whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Sunjata).â The cast also includes Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev âOzâ Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot, Steve Howey as Nick Wagner and Judy Reyes as Selena. The series is based on the French drama âHaut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI).â Drew Goddard developed the American version and executive produces via Goddard Textiles along with Sarah Esberg. Todd Harthan serves as executive producer and showrunner. Olson also executive produces, as does Marc Halsey. 20th Television is the studio.
