The Internet Reacts To Sophie Turner As Lara Croft

It’s an exciting time to be a Tomb Raider fan . A new game is coming in 2027 , a remake of the original is slated for later this year, and the Amazon live-action series is finally getting off the ground. Today, we finally got our first look at Game of Thrones and X-Men actor Sophie Turner in full Lara Croft glam for the upcoming show, and she looks like she was plucked straight out of the original 1996 game. Turner is wearing a faithful recreation of Lara’s teal tank top and even has her iconic rounded red sunglasses that we haven’t seen on her in recent games. The outfit coming so close to being game-accurate does open it up to nitpicks, though, like how she’s wearing black shorts instead of the brown ones from back in the day. That same accuracy has made the reaction to the reveal interesting. Some fans are excited at how true Turner’s look is to the source material, while others are less moved by it because, well, yeah, that’s what Lara Croft looks like, alright. Others are simultaneously giving Amazon props for committing to the ‘90s look while also saying it kinda looks like a Party City costume.
