She said the threat was part of a wider pattern of intimidation against journalists. What happened that evening According to Munni, the incident took place on the evening of 21 December while she was not at the office. After finishing a meeting with reporters, she left around 8 pm to meet a friend. Shortly after, a group of youths arrived at the office and met the channel’s Managing Director, Ahmed Hossain. The visitors first complained about Global TV’s coverage of the death of Shahid Sharif Osman Hadi, a spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha. They then demanded Munni’s removal, accusing her of being an Awami League supporter. Munni has strongly denied having any political links.
