Private firm employee held with a live bullet at Cubbon Park Metro Station
Security personnel at the Cubbon Park Metro Station caught a 21-year-old private firm employee who allegedly carried a live bullet, during a routine security check on Tuesday. The suspect, identified as Mohammed Suhail, a resident of Chikkamagaluru, was attempting to enter the station when the security staff checked his baggage at the entry gate and found a live bullet. He was immediately detained and later handed over to the Commercial Street Police for further investigation. Based on a complaint filed by G.N. Lokesh, assistant sub-inspector, Suhail has been booked under relevant sections of the Arms Act, 1959 and taken into custody. During questioning, Suhail reportedly told the police that he had got the bullet from his friend, a hairdresser from Chikkamagaluru, and kept it as a keepsake, the police said. The police have sent the seized bullet to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis and have launched a probe to verify his claims. Published - December 25, 2025 06:36 pm IST
