A 19-year-old from Lucknow recently shared his worries on Reddit, not expecting much in return. What started as a late-night rant soon turned into a moment that touched many users online. The teen spoke about how life had been tough lately. He said he was jobless, and his family was under pressure after his father lost his life savings in a scam. On top of that, his health made things even harder. With no income and money already tight at home, buying asthma medicine had become a serious concern. The title of his post read, “Redditor Gave Me Money," while the caption said, “A REDDITOR GAVE ME MONEY TO BUY MY MEDICINE. Things has been hard lately, add me being jobless now, plus my dad got scammed of his life savings, top it with a cherry on the cake, I got asthma, and I live in India with 400 AQI". He later added, “Things were hard and honestly I was about to run out of one of my asthma inhalers and I ranted about it online and one of the Redditor said they will help me buy the medicine I got the inhaler and few other things for a bit confront." A Stranger Steps in to Help Soon after the post garnered attention, a stranger reached out to the teen and offered to help cover the cost of the inhaler. With that support, the teen was able to buy his asthma medicine along with a few basic items to get by for some time. According to the post, the teen shared, “I received the inhaler and a few other essentials for some relief." He also wrote, “Reddit truly is heart of the Internet". Addressing his age, he added, “Also I’m 19 before anyone says about why I’m posting here," the post says.
