
FSSAI registration camps held at 14 Hyderabad vegetable markets
The Telangana Food Safety Department on Tuesday conducted Food Safety and Standards Authority of India c at 14 major vegetable markets across Hyderabad, as part of its efforts to strengthen food safety standards and promote hygiene practices among vendors. The camps were organised with the objective of facilitating the issuance of registrations and licences under the FSSAI, while also sensitising vegetable vendors on food hygiene, safety norms and the importance of maintaining sanitation within market premises, said a release. The registration drives were held at Kushaiguda, Uppal Vegetable and Fruit Market, Saroornagar Rythu Bazar, NTR Nagar Vegetable Market, Vanasthalipuram Rythu Bazar, Madannapet Vegetable Market, Mir Alam Mandi, Owaisi Vegetable Market, Monda Market, Mettuguda Vegetable Market, Erragadda Vegetable Market, Gudimalkapur Vegetable Market, Lingampally Market and JNTU Rythu Bazar. A total of 926 applications were received from vendors seeking FSSAI registration or licences during the one-day exercise. The department has announced another round of registration camps on December 30 at the same locations, providing an opportunity for vendors who were unable to apply earlier to avail the facility.
