Model eaten alive by crocodile in front of horrified tourists WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT Ginger Meadows, 24, from the US, was visiting Darwin in Australia when she came face to face with one of the most deadly animals in the world while swimming by a waterfall Inspired after watching 'Crocodile Dundee', an American model called Ginger Meadows decided to take a trip Down Under to see what the Australian Outback was really like for herself but her trip ended in gruesome tragedy. The 24-year-old was from Snowmass Village in Colorado, a popular ski resort that couldn't be more different from the parched lands of Darwin in the Northern Territory. It was on March 29, 1987 that she and her mate Jane Burchett set out to visit the King's Cascade on a luxury boat, named Lady G. After Australia , the pair planned to move on to Papua New Guine a. The boat was being manned by skipper Bruce Fitzpatrick and just a few other crew members when it arrived at the spectacular waterfall, which was also notorious for crocodiles . Because the crocodile was in front of us maybe she thought she could swim to the shoreline and get away," she said. However, Ginger was no match for the speed of the giant beast and quickly found herself in the worst situation possible. Jane went on: "She let go of my arm, jumped off the ledge, took two strokes and it grabbed her around the waist and pulled her right under the water. Then he pulled her up out of the water right in front of me - I looked her right in the face, she had her arms in the air and she was looking right at me. Then it pulled her back under the water." Her body was found the following day on what would have been her 25th birthday. Chief Inspector Arnold Davies of the regional police station in the Port of Broome said at the time her remains were put inside a body bag, which was put at the front of a 23-foot rescue boat. “After travelling 15 kilometers (9 miles) up to the mouth of the river, a large crocodile leapt out of the water about four feet and snapped the end of the body bag, trying to tear it,” he said. The boat's crew feared another...
